Clear-head

For when your mind is full before the day starts. Skincare first, then one thing that matters.

Guided by the goddess of wisdom

The goddess of wisdom is your guide. Her name is Athena. She protected the city of Athens, and the city took her name. The legend says she and Poseidon, god of the sea, both wanted to be its patron, and each offered the city one gift. Poseidon struck the rock and a spring of salt water appeared. Athena planted an olive tree. The olive tree won. It gave food and oil for generations. She chose one gift, and made it count.

Choose one gift for today, and let it grow.

Your ritual, step by step

  1. Refresh

    1 min

Splash lukewarm water on your face, or mist it with rose water. Pat dry and leave your skin slightly damp.

  2. Hydrate

    2 min

Press 2 to 3 drops into your damp skin with your palms. Hyaluronic acid brings hydration, niacinamide supports a more even-looking complexion, and a stable form of vitamin C, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, adds radiance. Press slowly, because slow touch gives your mind something to settle on.

  3. Seal

    2 min

Warm it between your palms and press it up and out from your neck to your forehead. It seals in hydration and keeps your skin comfortable through a long day. Heading out? Finish with a broad-spectrum SPF.

  4. Breathe

    4 min

Sit down and close your eyes. Breathe in for four counts and out for six. Keep going for four minutes. If thoughts arrive, let them pass and return to the count.

  5. Her moment: choose your olive tree

    6 min

Take a notebook. For three minutes, write down everything taking up space in your mind. Don’t edit. Draw a line below it. Under the line, write one sentence: “What is the one thing I can do today that really matters?” Choose one. Not three. That is your olive tree.

Make it yours

Ask

Ask your mother, your grandmother or an older woman you trust: how did you clear your head when you had too much on your mind? How did you decide what mattered most?
